The stop log system for property and landscape protection in the private or commercial sector is made of robust and corrosion-resistant aluminum with a tongue and groove system. Not only the quick and easy assembly, but also the flexibility and the high-quality design provide security and protection for your home.

APPLICATION AREAS
Object protection

With the special dam beams made of aluminum, you can quickly seal various areas on the house, which provide points of attack for the water:

  • Gate openings (e.g. garage entrances and garage doors)
  • Doors (e.g. front doors, entrance doors, basement doors, patio doors, balcony doors, lift-and-slide doors)
  • Windows (e.g. basement windows)

By customizing the length of the dam beam, it is possible to protect windows, doors and gates from water entering. PREFA property protection is suitable for use in private areas, for example a single-family house, as well as for larger company buildings. The dam beams and the permanently installed fastening profiles can be customized in color to match the design of your facade.

Landscape protection

If you want to protect larger flood-prone areas or objects (such as driveways, roads or paths) from flooding, you can use PREFA flood protection as landscape protection. In this case, protection is provided by aluminum walls, which are erected in the open terrain with the help of ground sleeves. This system is ideal for you if you want to protect your house or property, for example, from a passing stream that could possibly significantly exceed the normal water level during severe storms.

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS

Schritt 1 Prefa
1. INSERTION OF THE LOWEST DAM BEAM

Start the assembly by inserting the dam beam with the bottom seal from above diagonally into the guide of the base profiles. Press the dam beam down firmly until the bottom seal rests neatly on the ground.

2. INTRODUCTION OF FURTHER DAM BEAMS

When the lowest dam beam rests securely and flat, proceed with inserting the other dam beams. To do this, insert the elements from above at an angle into the guide of the base profiles as in step 1 and press them down until the tongue and groove interlock and the seals are neatly in place.

3. ATTACHING THE CLAMPING PIECES

Push the clamping pieces with the joint foot downwards into the guide of the base profiles and press them down until the joint foot touches the top profile. Then use a hexagon wrench to slightly tighten the screw on the clamping piece.

4. EXPOSE GROUND SLEEVES

If you are using intermediate landscape bars, steps 4-6 must also be followed beforehand. Unscrew the countersunk screw in the cover plate of the ground sleeve by about one centimeter and thus pull out the cover plate and remove it.

5. SET UP CENTER COLUMN

You can now anchor the center column in the exposed ground sleeves by rotating them. Here, make sure that the sealing ring at the lower end fits.

6. POSSIBLE INSTALLATION OF A SUPPORT

If the built-up protective wall exceeds an area of 2 × 2 meters, the use of an additional support must be clarified.

FLOOD PROTECTION FOR INDIVIDUAL REQUIREMENTS

The following examples show possible applications of the Prefa flood protection dam locks in the field of building protection and landscape protection. The flood protection can also be installed over long distances.

DAMBARKEN (property and landscape protection) The profile is made of a robust and corrosion-resistant aluminum alloy and is also suitable for long storage thanks to the low maintenance requirements. The profiles are available in two thicknesses (50 mm and 80 mm). With System 80, taller constructions and larger spans are possible. The aluminum profiles are simply stacked on top of one another in a tongue and groove system. High stability and maximum safety is guaranteed by the interlocking of the dam beams. The profiles are pushed into the fastening profiles on both sides and fixed from above with clamping pieces.

FASTENING PROFILE (for property protection) The fixed fastening profiles can be connected in three ways: In, behind or in front of the reveal, as described above. The fixing is dimensioned according to the static requirements to match the overall system and must be decided on a case-by-case basis. Inlaid system seals made of foam rubber prevent the ingress of water. The profiles are available up to a length of 6 m and can be installed up to 3 m high. A static calculation is recommended in any case and we also offer it without obligation and free of charge. The inserted system seal consists of EPDM / foam rubber and can be easily exchanged if necessary. After use, the profiles and seals must be cleaned and checked in order to guarantee functionality in the event of future events.

The weight is only 9.4 kg (system 50mm; system 80mm – 11.3kg)
per running meter. During the initial assembly, it must be placed on a suitable surface beforehand
a ground socket can be attached. The uprights are simply anchored in the ground socket using a bayonet lock without any special tools.
Additional supports are to be provided if necessary. The landscape protection is only offered with posts for setting in concrete.
